Candles may contain components that adversely affect how a candle burns. In such cases, a larger wick can often restore the desired combustion properties. However, this is not always the case and in some instances it creates a sooting issue. This is where our product Oil binder and Burn improver  product comes into play as a burn aid. Its physical properties help disperse the candle raw materials homogeneously during burning, creating a uniform burn as well as increases the burn rate.

Liquid wax, during production processes, cools down subsequently and solidifies. During this cooling the wax forms a crystal structure with spaces in between. Fragrance oil, other types of oil and dyes accumulate in the spaces between the crystals. Problems arise when there is insufficient space for the desired quantity of fragrance oil and migration occurs. This results in parts of fragrance and other oils not being fully absorbed and collecting on the surface of the candle as droplets and the candle appears oily.

Oil binder and Burn improver is used to counter this phenomenon and reduce the migration of fragrance oil and dyes by changing the crystal structure for optimised absorption.

Use at 0.1% (1g per kg wax blend) We recommend you add this product at 85-90C.
